Cinnamon Roll Cake/ Cupcakes

I have to go ahead and apologize from the start for not posting a picture with this post. Maybe this will remind me to take a picture in the morning. But I made this Cinnamon Roll Cake last week and it was DELICIOUS!!! My dad who normally isn't a fan of sweets loved it! I made them into cupcakes and they taste great even without any type of icing or glaze. It was so good I had to make it again this week. It's more of a bread and great for breakfast (or really any time at all). Just had to brag on that recipe for a sec. My mom found it browsing on a blog of hers---when I find it, I'll post the link and I'll definitely have to rave to that person how great that recipe is. Yum!

Baking in the morning! Thinking up some decoration ideas- Happy Cupcaking!

1st Bake Sale

A few weeks ago, I officially started selling my cupcakes and the first sale was successful. It took an entire weekend, but I sold a majority of them. After 2 days of baking and decorating- tons of flour, frosting, and sprinkles- we packaged them, set them up and this is what our tables were filled with these....

Saturday, things went slowly, but I sold a few dozen. Sunday came around and I brought the boxes back out and sold them again and that morning/evening I sold the rest and then ended up having to give more away at the end of the night. (There's no way I could have so many around the house...way too tempting!) I'm excited about getting this off the ground and look forward to seeing what other kinds of cupcakes I can make!

Pineapple Paradise

So I took a quick break from cupcakes to make a Pineapple Upside Cake for someone's birthday. This one could be considered a bit tricky, since I don't eat fruit and never tasted the finished product. But I received some rave reviews on it---so that's good enough for me! Plus it looked great in the end  :)

I used some Turbinado brown sugar instead of the regular packed brown sugar, but it didn't make a difference. I also added some cinnamon and was starting to make this more of a spiced cake before realizing that not everyone might like that (luckily they loved it) Happy Birthday, Mr. Jerry!!

Santa Hat Cupcakes

I have to give Pinterest credit for these Santa-Hat cupcakes! They are such a cute idea for Christmas. It's amazing what a chocolate cupcake, some frosting, and strawberry can do! :)

Filled Cupcakes

Here I did a classic Vanilla cupcake and filled it with Orange-Cream Cheese frosting. I always see on Cupcake Wars where they fill their cupcakes with various things- fruit, chocolate, candies. So I decided to just test out filling these cupcakes. They came out well and reminded me a little of Twinkies (always good). Hopefully next time I make these I can try them with different sweet, yummy goodness!

Snickerdoodle Sweets

I looovve cinnamon and almost anything that has cinnamon in it. A few months ago I found a great recipe for snickerdoodles- and I loved them. So when I found a Snickerdoodle cupcake recipe, I just had to try it. These came out great and when warm, seem perfect for a brunch or tea. (I don't skimp on the cinnamon either) :)
Enjoy these cupcakes plain....

....or with a dollop of orange-cream cheese icing.
