Santa Hat Cupcakes

I have to give Pinterest credit for these Santa-Hat cupcakes! They are such a cute idea for Christmas. It's amazing what a chocolate cupcake, some frosting, and strawberry can do! :)

Filled Cupcakes

Here I did a classic Vanilla cupcake and filled it with Orange-Cream Cheese frosting. I always see on Cupcake Wars where they fill their cupcakes with various things- fruit, chocolate, candies. So I decided to just test out filling these cupcakes. They came out well and reminded me a little of Twinkies (always good). Hopefully next time I make these I can try them with different sweet, yummy goodness!

Snickerdoodle Sweets

I looovve cinnamon and almost anything that has cinnamon in it. A few months ago I found a great recipe for snickerdoodles- and I loved them. So when I found a Snickerdoodle cupcake recipe, I just had to try it. These came out great and when warm, seem perfect for a brunch or tea. (I don't skimp on the cinnamon either) :)

Enjoy these cupcakes plain....

....or with a dollop of orange-cream cheese icing.

My Cupcake Trifecta

Here's what I like to call my Cupcake Trifecta: Vanilla cupcakes, Red Velvet, and a new favorite of mine....BLUE VELVET!
Red Velvet and the Classic Vanilla were recipes that I've become familiar with. After seeing a Blue Velvet on pinterest- I decided to try it out for myself. After working and working to get just the right shade of blue (I wanted a really bright cupcake) Voila!!! A Blue Velvet Cupcake was born! Add some simple icing and decorated with blue sanding sugar. I can't wait to make these again. Oooo....maybe even Green for St. Pattys!
